"Live life as it should be, April 12th, 2002 There are times we take people for granted. We think that we can treat them any way we want because they know how we are. And sometimes without knowing it, we hurt them. We do not know the stress or problems faced by the other, be it a friend, a colleague, a lover, a spouse or our children. We think, "Hey, it's alright, they can take it." Can they? How far can they take it? If your friend next to you suddenly goes quiet, take the time to find out why. First of all, take the time to realise it. Most of the time we prattle on and on. And when finally the anger spills out or the tears start, confusion reigns. "What happened? What did we do?" I have been in that sort of situation before with Anderson, twice, I believe, in a shop. I made some remarks, little realising that I had belittled him. He stormed off, leaving a very highly confused me in his wake. I guess I am lucky in a way because Anderson does speak his mind and he doesn't let it fester until it blows up into a disastrous situation. I, on the other hand, don't, I just suddenly become extremely quiet, exactly the opposite of my nature so it is easy to detect it and then the interogation starts because he wants to know why I am suddenly so quiet. In whatever a relationship, we need to be sensitive to the other for it to work. It's no good saying, "He knows I am like that." So, does the whole world evolve around you?
