"I know a lot of women like taller men but does height make a difference? Would height be able to tell whether he would keep his vow?"

Are shorter men a better bet for a lasting marriage?

According to an article written and published in www.telegraph.co.uk, a research showed that the secret of a long and a faithful marriage is to marry a short man.

The study, done by American and German scientists, said that tall men are likely to divorce and remarry, usually replacing their first wife with a woman who is at least two years younger and better educated.

Ulrich Muller of the University of Marburg in Germany and Allan Mazur of the University of Syracuse in New York, found that taller men had more children than their shorter counterparts.

According to Prof Muller, it is not that women chose to have more children with tall men, rather that, " Tall men more often found second wives with whom they had a second family with."

The research which was reported in New Scientist, studies 322 men who graduated in 1950 from the US military academy at West Point who ranged in height from 5 ft to 6 ft 2 inches.

It was discovered that more than twice as many tall men as short men divorced and remarried. The simple reason for the infidelity of the tallest quarter of men was that they had more opportunities to stray.

Shorter men may want to be unfaithful but they had less opportunities. Prof Muller also said, "We found that taller men were, on average, evaluated more favourably by women, chosen more often as mates and ultimately as fathers."

So what is the moral of the research?

Don't marry tall men less they be unfaithful, divorce and remarry again. If the research is true, chances are they may.

So women, take heed, take a closer look at the shorter one, he may be just the one to have a longer lasting and happier marriage with.

As for me, well, I'll go with the heart and if I do end up with short children (short genes from the father), hey, at least I am happy.
